On the Brink of Everything: Grace, Gravity & Getting Old
by Parker J. Palmer
October 7 - November 18, 2018
Explore the challenges and rewards of getting older!
Join with the Pilgrims Group in study and discussion of On the Brink of Everything: Grace, Gravity & Getting Old, by Parker Palmer, Sundays at 10 a.m., room S304, beginning October 7 - November 18, at First Baptist Church Decatur, 308 Clairemont Ave., 30030.
Dr. Beth Jackson-Jordan, ACPE Certified Educator at Emory Healthcare, will lead the first and last Sundays and rotate through small group discussions of the book on the Sundays in between.
“Looking back on eight decades of life—and on his work as writer, teacher and activist— Palmer explores what he’s learning about self and world, inviting readers to explore their own experience. In prose and poetry— and three downloadable songs written for the book…— he meditates on the meanings of life, past, present, and future. ‘The laws of nature that dictate sundown dictate our demise. But how we travel the arc toward the sunset of our lives is ours to choose: will it be denial, defiance, or collaboration?’” (inside cover)
